If there’s one provider who give extra care and attention to a theme, it’s Nolimit City. They also aren’t afraid to take on the less popular themes for their games, like their recent release Walk of Shame. Today though, we’re in a more popular location – Sin City, although we’re off the strip, alongside some graffiti in a less than friendly neighbourhood. When you’re tackling Vegas though, anything is fair game. After all, what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. According to Nolimit City, it’s all about the Benjamins when you head here, but in this release, it’s all about the Abes and the G’s too – in Benji Killed in Vegas. With RTP options up to 96.04%, this highly (8) volatile release is capable of producing wins up to 10,000x bet.
It’s all happening in Benji Killed in Vegas, in a typically Nolimit City kind of way. We’re in Vegas, obviously, with the Paris, Luxor, High Roller, and various other noticeable landmarks in the background, although we’re in a darker side of town with overflowing garbage cans, chain link fences, a police car, and graffiti. At first glance, there’s remnants of East Coast vs West Coast, thanks to the appearance of some well known US figures, adorned in hip-hop style attire. I could go on, but it’s one for players to see for themselves and spend time picking apart. It’s all finished off with a heavy hip-hop soundtrack, tying it all into something quite transfixing.
Benji Killed in Vegas Base Features
Taking place across 5 reels, wins are formed on Benji Killed in Vegas by matching at least 3 symbols on adjacent reels, beginning with the leftmost reel. Each reel holds 3 symbols, but with the features available players can activate up to 7,776 ways to win. Symbols available begin with non premiums, with knuckle dusters, guns, poker chips, boxing gloves, and teeth – all of which are solid gold. Land 3 of a kind of any non premium to see wins between 0.15 and 0.50x bet, increasing to values between 0.70 and 1.50x bet for 5 of a kind matches. At the premium end, we have three well known American men, all of which appear on their own dollar bills – George Washington (G Og), who appears on a $1 bill, Abraham Lincoln (Ab), who appears on a $5 bill, and Benjamin Franklin (Ben G), who appears on a $100 bill. Land 3 of a kind of any of these symbols to see wins between 1 and 2x bet, increasing to values between 5 and 30x bet for 5 of a kind matches.
So, as usual there are a host of features to cover in Benji Killed in Vegas, and we’ll start with Enhancers. Enhancers are active with xBet Red, 2-Dice Respin, Vegas$ Spins, and B.I.G. Vegas$ Spins, and are an additional position at the top of each reel. When activated, Enhancers can land xMultipliers, or xSplit symbols.
First though, Overlay Multipliers are important. When Overlay Multipliers are on the reels, they will move to a new position at the start of each spin in which they are active. They can land on the same reel as another Overlay Multiplier, but never in the same position. When wins are evaluated, any Overlay Multipliers on top of a symbol involved in a winning combination will apply their multiplier to the win amount. If more than one Overlay Multiplier are on top of symbols involved in a single win, their values will be added together before being applied.
So, back to Enhancers. As mentioned, Enhancers can land xMultipliers, or xSplit symbols:
- xMultipliers – can have a value between 2 and 9, adding their value to any Overlay Multiplier on the reel below.
- xSplit symbols – split all non premiums on the reel below in half, creating a maximum of 6 symbols on the reel. Any premium symbols will receive a x2 multiplier with xSplit, which means if they nudge their multiplier can nudge as high as x6. Additionally, if an Overlay Multiplier is on the reel below an xSplit, the multiplier value will be doubled.
Next up is xBet, for which there are two options:
- xBet Blue – for a cost of an additional 50%, players are guaranteed one Scatter symbol every spin, with more than 3 times the chance of landing Vegas$ Spins, and twice the chance of landing B.I.G. Vegas$ Spins. Symbol values are unaffected, and in a 96.04% setting, RTP dips slightly to 96.02%.
- xBet Red – for a cost of 9x bet, every spin will have 2 Overlay Multipliers with values of x2 and x3 respectively, and Enhancers will be active. It will also be possible to land additional Scatter symbols, with more than 15 times the chance of landing Vegas$ Spins, and fifty times the chance of landing B.I.G. Vegas$ Spins. Symbol values are unaffected, and in a 96.04% setting, RTP increases slightly to 96.10%.
Additionally, players can trigger Dead Presidents Nudge, xNudge Wild, or 2-Dice Respin. Interestingly, it’s a common misconception that Benjamin Franklin was ever a US President – he was, in fact, not. I digress. Each of the ‘President’ symbols are 3 symbols tall in height, making them a full reel symbol. By landing any of the three symbols fully in view on reels 1-3, the Dead Presidents Nudge is triggered. Every other instance of this symbol on the reels that is partly in view will be nudged to be fully in view. Any symbols that nudge into view will have a multiplier applied, which increments by +x1 for each nudge. Multipliers will be added together then applied to the value of the win, according to the pay table.
Next is the xNudge Wild feature, which we’re all familiar with by now. Wilds can land on reels 2, 3, or 4, and substitute for all symbols except Scatter symbols. Each time a Wild lands partially in view, it will nudge to cover the full reel it has landed upon. For every nudge the Wild completes, the win multiplier will be incremented by +x1. Before payout, a Wild multiplier will multiply with all other possible multipliers that are participating in the win.
Finally, it’s the 2-Dice Respin. Land 2 Scatter symbols in view to trigger this feature, wherein Enhancers are activated and both Scatters are transformed to a x2 and x3 Overlay Multiplier respectively.
Benji Killed in Vegas Bonus
Land 3 Scatter symbols to trigger 9 Vegas$ Spins. During the feature, Enhancers are activated, and the Scatter symbols are transformed into a x2, x3, and x4 Overlay Multiplier respectively. After each spin, multiplier values reset. Players can upgrade Vegas$ Spins to B.I.G. Vegas$ Spins by landing Scatter symbols, with an additional +2 spins awarded for each Scatter in view. The extra Scatter symbols will transform into a x5 and, if possible, x6 Overlay Multiplier respectively. These Overlay Multipliers will be active for the remainder of the feature.
Land 4 or 5 Scatter symbols to trigger 11 or 13 B.I.G. Vegas$ Spins, respectively. During the feature, Enhancers are activated, and the Scatter symbols are transformed into a x2, x3, x4, x5, and possibly a x6, Overlay Multiplier respectively. Multiplier values do not reset in this feature.
Players in appropriate regions can take advantage of the following Nolimit Bonus options:
- Vegas$ Spins – 50x bet (96.14% RTP)
- B.I.G. Vegas$ Spins – 300x bet (96.29% RTP)
- Lucky Draw (80% Vegas$ Spins, 20% B.I.G. Vegas$ Spins) – 100x bet (96.22% RTP)
The above RTP values are based upon the main game setting of 96.04% RTP.
The maximum win available in Benji Killed in Vegas is 10,000x bet (aptly named Benji Killed in Vegas). If the sum of a single game round exceeds this, the game round will end and 10,000x bet will be awarded.
First Impression
After a lukewarm reception to some of their releases at the end of last year, Benji Killed in Vegas seems like a return to form for Nolimit City. I’ve expressed this before but it bears repeating – I really think this team do their best work when a release is bursting at the seams. There’s nothing inherently wrong with their more simple attempts, but xFeatures, over the top graphics and animations, heavy sounds, cool little motifs scattered here and there, it works for them. Whilst other providers excel at the most simple releases on the market, like Relax Gaming, Nolimit City’s style works best with something like this, like Mental, like San Quentin.
There’s a lot to cover in the form of gameplay but the highlights are this – xBet helps to liven the base game to hopefully bring in Enhancers, Multipliers, a higher chance of features, or at the very least 2-Dice Respins. Although a high cost of 9x bet, with 50 times the chance of landing the so-called ‘super feature’, xBet Red is a great option for players unable to opt for a 300x bet super buy, be that financially or legislatively – with this feature landing on average around 1 in 100 spins. When either bonus round begins, things kick up a notch, but particularly in the case of B.I.G. Vegas$ Spins, wherein Overlay Multipliers do not reset. When the right combinations hit, wins are possible up to 10,000x bet – a little on the low side for Nolimit City, but not inconsequential. Of course, maths is highly (8) volatile, so it won’t necessarily be an easy trip to Vegas. Finally, RTP options are available up to 96.04%, so as always it’s worth checking this.
And there you have it. If you’re a fan of Nolimit City’s busier releases, Benji Killed in Vegas will for sure appeal to you. Other maths information, for those who are interested, is as follows:
